Bio

Rhett Nelson is a composer and pianist, holding degrees from Brigham Young University (BA), the University of Miami (MM), and the University of Southern California (Film Scoring Certificate). An alumnus of the ASCAP Television and Film Scoring Workshop and recipient of the ASCAP American Federation of Musicians Scholarship, he has scored many national commercials for Mercedes-Benz, Cascade, and Infiniti, many which have aired during prime advertising slots for the Super Bowl and Academy Awards. His composing career began shortly after graduating from USC, with a brief internship assisting Fox's "House M.D." composer Jon Ehrlich, which quickly led to Nelson contributing additional music to over 100 episodes of Disney's "Aaron Stone" and "Power Rangers," along with the Cartoon Network's "Unnatural History." During that time, he also worked as a music copyist for the renowned JoAnn Kane Music Services, preparing music for John Williams, James Newton Howard, Alan Silvestri, and John Powell. Rhett's music serves as the current theme and sports package for the British Open Golf Championship on ESPN. Having contributed original scores to the Warner Chappell Production Music catalog, his music has been licensed in hundreds of documentaries, film trailers, television shows, and commercials on every major television network. Notable movie trailer placements include "Toy Story 3," "Robin Hood," and "Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer."
